As it turns out, the case was only pursued because of a certain judge being pressured by a pollie... so much for the impartiality of the law.
The police were told to go ahead with the prosecution, even though they considered it a waste of resources and time.
The actual comment that named the person in question was removed from the site by persons unknown... MoJ first claimed that they had removed it (to do so, they had to hack the site) then denied doing so.
(Just a thought... if the poster himself removed it, then who was he working for? and why would MoJ claim responsibility?)If a pollie is doing something stupid but not illegal then we don't have the right to know.
His/her private lives are none of our business.
On the other hand if it is illegal then the world needs to know so he/she doesn't get elected again.
So we aren't allowed to know that he was beating up his wife??? Is that not illegal??? I for one don't want someone like that in a highly responsible and visible position of power...
just my humble thoughts on the matter....
